Assertiveness
- Confident and direct in claiming one’s rights or putting forward one’s views.
Assertiveness is a quality that the world tends to beat out of us all too often. Nevertheless, a quality life depends upon having the ability to speak up for ourselves and our interests, to follow that internal hunch ~ without spinning off into arrogance or aggression. Assertiveness is a high-level yet mission-critical element of a strong, happy, meaningful life. Following are excellent examples of people exercising assertiveness… or reaping the consequences of having failed to do so.
