Empathy
- The power of understanding and imaginatively entering into another person’s feelings.
While the ability to connect with another person’s experience seems perhaps tender-hearted and to the more jaded, even weak, this powerful ability represents the best and the worst humanity has to offer. In fullness it brings with it every good quality for peace, kindness, interdependence, and true relationship; in absence, the void wreaks apathy and every opportunity for abandonment, disenfranchisement, usury, manipulation, and every form of cruelty.
