Fear
- Distress aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined.
- Consideration or anticipation (of something unpleasant) with a feeling of dread or alarm.
Here we’re not speaking of healthy, useful fear ~ the kind that makes us run from the tiger and saves our lives. No, we’re talking about the kind that stops us in our tracks, halts our progress, kills our dreams. Sometimes it’s fear of the other and what that other may do … or that we can’t handle what may show up should we pursue a course of action … or that the next disappointment might be the one that finally does us in. And once it sets in, it can be difficult to conceptualize a different way of dealing with it. Following are excellent illustrations of people responding effectively to fear (or correcting course upon realizing they blew it!).

Back from a seriously scary health relapse in mid-October and returning to action. Kudos to my patient friends and colleagues, you're the best. New programs and more unrolling this year, here's to 2012!
