Grit
- Firmness of character; indomitable courage, toughness, or resolution.
You’ll notice True Grit isn’t on the list below. That’s on purpose. (What??) Rooster Cogburn was relentless tough to be sure, but that was his nature ~ not a fierce internal determination to prevail despite likely overwhelming odds. That’s “true grit.” Admirable grit. Grit worth modeling. Following are excellent illustrations of people drawing deep within themselves to face what faces them without flinching.
