Hubris
- An excess of ambition, pride, etc., ultimately causing the transgressor’s ruin.
If the love of money is the root of all evil, then hubris is its trunk. Cautionary tales abound. Following are excellent illustrations of people whose self-aggrandizement ran their lives straight onto a blade ~ and a few who somehow fashioned a tourniquet.
