Illness or Disability
- A harmful deviation from the normal structural or functional state of body or mind.
- The condition of being unable to perform a task or function because of a physical or mental impairment.
Count Tyrone Rugen pointed out, “If you haven’t got your health, you haven’t got anything.” While I wouldn’t say anything, it’s quite true that few things can impair or derail progress toward one’s desired objectives quite like the body’s refusal to play ball (views of choosing one’s reality, etc., nothwithstanding ~ sometimes a cigar is just a cigar). The key is respecting the physical without being defined by it, keeping the discouragement from taking hold as depression, and doing as much as you can whenever you can. Following are excellent illustrations of people meeting the challenge head-on, or instead allowing it to underpin their undoing.

Back from a seriously scary health relapse in mid-October and returning to action. Kudos to my patient friends and colleagues, you're the best. New programs and more unrolling this year, here's to 2012!
