Loneliness
- Sadness resulting from being forsaken or abandoned.
- Destitution of sympathetic or friendly companionship, support, etc.
Whether this miserable feeling results from bucking society’s pressure, from not being comfortable in one’s own skin, from being shunned or squelched by oppression, or simply finding oneself literally alone, it’s important to realize that one is not alone in the experience. Following are excellent examples of people dealing with a profound sense of loneliness, and finding ways to cope with ~ and perhaps even resolve ~ it.
