Optimism
- An inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome.
Here we’re not referring to Pollyanna, pie-in-the-sky, or pipe dreaming (gee, losta p’s in on this page, oh good grief…). Rather, we’re speaking of the basic position of not anticipating that the future is going to suck. Which can, in fact, be a difficult position to maintain at times. But it’s better than hypertension and anxiety, so let’s store up some examples for a rainy day. Following are excellent illustrations of people who take an optimistic stance (and those who really don’t, and how things turn out…)

Back from a seriously scary health relapse in mid-October and returning to action. Kudos to my patient friends and colleagues, you're the best. New programs and more unrolling this year, here's to 2012!
