Self-Respect
- Due respect for oneself, one’s character, and one’s conduct.
“Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Love thyself. “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” Be treated well (assuming no sadomasochistic tendencies, lol). “Live and let live.” Live. In all these profound charges, positive regard for one’s own self factors equally into the equation. Self-respect doesn’t say one is better than others, but that one is as equally worthwhile and deserving as any other. No more, and no less. No less, and no more.
